Edgar County Genealogy Library (ECGL) is home to an extensive collection of materials about the genealogy and history of Edgar County, Illinois. Located in the Edgar County Historical Complex annex, it began as an offspring of both the Edgar County Historical and Genealogical Societies and continues as part of the Historical Society. The Library is staffed by volunteers to assist with your research. It is supported by sales of its publications, research fees, and donations.

Look for our Open sign!

It’s not easy to tell from Main Street when the library is open. Our hours are posted on the door, but it faces the driveway, not the street.

This sign will help identify the library and show that we are open for walk-in visits. We hope that it will encourage passersby to stop in. Parking is available along the street and to the rear of the Annex/Library building.
